Are you planning a festival or event that could attract visitors from outside the Kapuskasing area? Or maybe you're working on a tourism marketing project or developing a new tourism product? The Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) Fund is here to help!

Administered by the Kapuskasing Economic Development Corporation, the MAT Fund provides financial support to groups, organizations, and businesses aiming to boost tourism in Kapuskasing. By funding initiatives like festivals, events, marketing campaigns, and tourism product development, we strive to enhance visitor experiences, grow tourism, and increase overnight stays in our community.

Please review the following funding windows and notification timelines. During these windows, applications will be reviewed by the Kapuskasing Tourism Development Committee, which will evaluate the potential of projects to enhance our community's economic vitality. Recommendations will then be submitted to the KEDC Board of Directors, who will make final decisions.

• December 1 to February 28: Notifications will be sent by March 31.

• March 1 to May 31: Notifications will be sent by June 30.

• June 1 to September 30: Notifications will be sent by October 31.

• October 1 to November 30: Notifications will be sent by December 31.
